Andrew Morton holds a BSc (Hons) in physics and a PhD in experimental nuclear astrophysics from the University of Melbourne.

In 1995, after completing his research into nuclear reactions of interest in modelling supernovae, Andrew joined Australia’s largest patent attorney firm. Qualification as a patent attorney and partnership followed, until he left in 2017 and moved to Germany. There he joined a Munich patent attorney firm, and gained invaluable experience working in the European and German patent systems—while continuing to support his Australian clients.

Andrew’s practice includes the drafting, prosecution and defence of patents for nuclear reactor and radiation detection technology, radiographic treatment techniques, innovations in radioisotope manufacturing, automated medical image analysis inventions, novel medical imaging systems, and computer implemented inventions.

Andrew is a Fellow of The Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia, a Member of The Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand, and a Councillor of the Asian Patent Attorney Association (as well as serving as a co-chair of the Association’s Patents Committee).
